‘Helping to Make a Difference in the Community’
We need volunteer drivers to transport elderly and disabled passengers in the local area to health and hospital appointments, shopping, hairdressers, lunch and social clubs, visit friends etc
Volunteering is a chance to help elderly and disabled people in the community who find it difficult or impossible to access public transport, become more mobile, ensuring they have access to essential services maintaining mental and physical wellbeing and reducing social isolation.
All we ask is that you can drive regularly for just a few hours a week and have:
• access to your own vehicle
• a clean driving licence
• current car insurance
• current mot (if applicable)
• current car tax
The only cost to you is your time
You will receive reimbursement for every mile you travel using your own car when driving for our scheme.
You can work at times to suit yourself and as little or as frequent as you want.
You will need to complete an application form (click on application form) be aged 21 or over and undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
